Echo Parenting & Education offers each year the Festival of Childhood. This is an open-air street festival, free for everyone. It is held in conjunction with the Day of the Child and National Child Abuse Prevention. For one whole day the block is filled with music, laughter and color as children and families visit community booths and take part in arts and health activities. All activities are free!!
Echo Parenting & Education located in Echo Park, is preparing for its annual Festival of Childhood – a day of fun and creativity that honors and celebrates the child focusing on the message of empathy for children. It’s a day when families can experience the possibility of nonviolence in the world! The Festival of Childhood is held in conjunction with The Day of the Child, National Child Abuse Prevention Month and International Spank Out Day. This free outdoor event especially for children offers a variety of creative activities with messages of self care, supporting child development, and nonviolence.
We invite you to participate in offering this gift to the community by hosting an art, play, or activity booth. Click here for our Booth Application (in PDF format).
Please note: Due to the nature of this event we ask that participants not make it their goal to advertise agencies or services; this event is not a resource or outreach fair. Participants hosting booths will be asked to have an art, play or similar activity at their booth, we encourage you to have an activity that is engaging and creative. Booth hosts may have a small table top signage, flyer, or brochure of the agency/organization they represent.
Please contact Azucena Ortiz (aortiz@echoparenting.org) or Jessica LeTarte (jletarte@echoparenting.org), or call (213) 484-6676 if you are interested in volunteering for the event.
